In May 2026, I played a gig at a local restaurant and bar called Love & War in Texas. The gig was for the Dallas Songwriters Association (DSA) Hall of Fame (HOF) Induction. Each year the DSA inducts Dallas and Texas songwriters into their HOF and each year a number of songs from those inductees are played. This year’s inductees were Liz Rose, Sara Hickman, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Pat Boone, Ronnie Dawson and Jeannie C. Riley.

I was honored to play and sing Ray Wylie Hubbard’s Redneck Mother. Not my best singing but we had fun. It was a three hour ceremony with no breaks. It was hot for May in Texas, 90 degrees.
